Maine Made Us Thankful

One of our favorite quotes here at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ program is, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” We’re so incredibly thankful to call Maine home, and we’ll never be able to shout thank you loud enough to our family, friends, and neighbors who go above and beyond to help make miracles happen for Maine kids.

Maine Made Us Thankful…

Today, we’d like to give a special shout out to Maine’s forest products industry. Through the years, they’ve helped to raise more than $1 million to Maine’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. And, last night, Kate Richardson from the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland and Kelly Pearson from Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center had the opportunity to accept a check for $135,007 from Dana Doran and the Professional Logging Contractor of Maine. This check is the collective work of the forest products industry and its incredible supporters. Each year, these folks go above and beyond to help make sure our hospitals have the resources we need to take care of our young patients. In 2019, the industry hosted a dinner and auction and two golf tournaments – in Lovell and Lincoln – to benefit our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ programs. The goal was simple – to make sure that every child receiving care at our two hospitals have access to the very best care and close to home. The generosity of this community is making this possible, and we’re so incredibly thankful for the support.
