Inspiring Hope in Unimaginable Ways

Maine’s logging community has been nothing short of amazing and unwavering in their support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. At a time when loggers, truckers, and their supporters could have understandably paused their fundraising efforts, they’ve continued to dig deep and support Maine’s two CMN Hospitals’ – Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center and The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital – in ways I could never have imagined.

On Friday night, the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine hosted their first in person event in two years; this after two record-breaking golf tournaments in August and September. The sense of community and hope that filled Cross Insurance Center’s ball room was hard to miss, and I knew it was going to be a special night when the first item in the auction, valued at $750, sold for $13,500. When all was said and done, this incredible group of people helped to raise $87,498 – funds that will support both member hospitals.

Chrissy Kimball and her husband, Randy, own Kimball and Sons Logging. Shen penned her thoughts about the event and the industry, as a whole, on her blog. Click here to read her thoughts. I’m sharing this because I think it’s a great piece that puts into perspective the reason for the unwavering support.
